Why Excluding Used Games From the Xbox 720 Would Be a Bad Idea

Microsoft has recently announced that it is finally working on a new console. As suggested by many speculators it will be called the Xbox 720. Rumors have run rampant about what the new system will offer to consumers, especially with Microsoft coming so late into the game. The new system is expected to feature a Blu-ray drive and an improved graphics engine.

But one rumor has me concerned more than any of the other new features. There may be a slight possibility that the system may not play used games. Now this whole idea seems absurd to me, and I can imagine to most gamers, it is too. Most people barely have the money to maintain regular buying habits for video games. If Microsoft were to go through with applying this "anti-used" tech, they could possibly lose lower-income consumers. Whether losing that group may actually mean something has still to be seen, but needless to say losing any consumer group would mean a bad thing for any company. And, make us, the consumer, more than just a little peeved. Here's to hoping that they won't.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's just speculation for now anyways.
